A new team

with a new approach

Château de Rouffiac, a 30-hectare wine estate in the Cahors appellation, was sold by its previous owners in December 2022. The new partners are enthusiasts with no other financial interests in wine, who want to restore the property to its former glory.

Stéphane Revel, who will be running the estate, is a Burgundy-born engineer with a 20-year career in IT. At the same time, he has always had a keen interest in wine, and has studied for a number of different certifications up to and including the WSET Diploma.

Jonathan Basse, a passionate entrepreneur and epicurean, will take on commercial responsibility.

At Château de Rouffiac, we want to go further than traditional organic production methods. So we've decided to embark on a regenerative farming approach.

Regenerative agriculture essentially involves encouraging biodiversity by taking steps to re-nourish the soil, helping the soil be more resilient in the face of erosion and drought, and encouraging the vines to trap more CO2 in the soil with limited tilling.
